Paisley & Swirls
Mar 28: First contact & picture. Bottom Line Tan thread to match the background with the least amount of show.
Apr 02: Quilt is here.
Apr 08: Paula is planning to donate this quilt for a church raffle. Most uncommon, she needs this quickly. I have contacted those ahead of her in the queue & they have willingly agreed for me to do this ahead of theirs.
Apr 09: Took pictures & measured the quilt & then started thinking about patterns. Two quilt styles quite conducive to custom block work are Log Cabin & Sampler quilts. When I found Cindy Roth's Log Cabin block on the Digi-Tech website, I knew it would be perfect for this quilt. Paula & I are still deciding on what to use in the Sampler blocks. Quilt is prepped ready to load. Bottom Line Tan seems to be best thread to blend in overall.
Apr 10: We are using the Log Cabin Feather Block for everything. II will create borders & sampler blocks from this one pattern. IQ is now programmed & details are on the Playground. The challenge is to keep the density the same throughout the quilt. This is the main reason we did not go with a mix of patterns for the sampler blocks. It is also why I let the border quilting cover 2 outer borders.
Apr 11: Loaded ready to quilt.
Apr 12: Well, here goes! Quilting.
