Aug 09, 2018: Saw this pattern in the Ye Olde Forest monthly newsletter that came out today. Love it! Bought it! Played with it. Drew it. Now searching for fabrics. Turns out that is the hard part.
Jun 28, 2019:  Picked up fabrics at Ye Olde Forest I thought would work in a large version of this quilt.
Aug 23: It has been my intention all along to make this for Munirah. Just waiting for her to accept it. Not 100% there but close. ​What a Day!!!
Nov 09, 2020: Pre-washed & pressed the fat quarters (FQs) and background cream fabric. (The dark purple for border &/or backing is not yet pre-washed). Cut 3 inner borders.
Nov 10: Need to decide which fabrics go where, cut 2.5" strips, plan the blocks.
​Nov 11: Still cutting strips. Found more batiks in the basement so I will have plenty.
​Nov 12: Pre-washing the rest of the fabrics. Strips are cut and sorted, more or less.
Nov 13: Strips cut to size ready to make blocks. Gave up planning the blocks for now & sorted by fabric instead. Will group them together after sewing on the background squares. Cutting the squares from the background fabric today that form the points. After cutting them, I will draw a diagonal sew line on the back of each one. Yes, I feel overwhelmed at this point. Just need to keep going.
Nov 17: Finally finished drawing all the 336 diagonal lines--288 small ones and 48 large ones. Ready to sew. Taking a break on this one & back to Lisa's Cricket Quilt.
Dec 15: Resumed work on this quilt. Working on block centers.
Dec 16: Finished block centers. Setup to sew first level pairs.
Dec 23: Finished the 1st-3rd level pairs. Ready to make the blocks.

Sep 22, 2019: What a Day!!!  Samira, Munirah's sister, is not the least bit shy,. She was so excited about all the quilts. As I showed her how to use the website to get an idea of what she would like, she kept finding lots of them that she liked. I think she up to about 4,000 favorites so far. Well, may only 10 or so. Having seen the back of the Lodge Quilt Joan made for me, she was sold on the idea of white whole cloth perhaps as the backing of something dusty mauve on front. Donna Kleinke's pattern sets are the place to start looking. Also check out Donna's website. Any quilting design used on the front of the quilt quilt will stand out on the back.
Sep 25: Samira wants this panel sold by eQuilters.com for the center of her quilt. So much for dusty mauve. Bet I can work it in nicely in the borders.
​Sep 26: Ordered the panel. Need to expand this panel to an 80x100 quilt.
Oct 02: The panel is here. When we get a chance, we'll plan this out.
Dec 09: We have a plan ... except for how I will quilt it. Samira is leaving that to me...something I hate to do for someone else.
​Dec 10: Suggested backing options. Munirah made a choice for busy Samira so we have all our fabrics chosen, purchased & on the way.
Dec 11: What to quilt? Considered Teacups & Roses and other roses patterns until I found Donna Keinke's Elegant Butterflies. Got a sec to speak to Samira who chose butterflies over roses. Perfect. Done & done planning. 
Dec 23: Top background white pearlescent weave fabric is here & gorgeous.
May 16 2020: Added borders to the panel.
May 27: Side borders are on. Working on large top & bottom borders.
Jul 13: Finished quilt top & backing. Loaded backing.

Aug 12: Finished attaching the binding & started the hand work.

Jul 05, 2019: ​Placed a quick order to make some quilt coverlets in my no-piece style unless I come up with something more interesting. The purple backing is 108". The batting I will use is the lightest weight 100% cotton on the market -- Quilters Dream Select.
Jul 10: Fabric is here for the coverlets with purple backing. Have enough for 3 quilts of each, 56 x 66 or more.. The batiks are a larger design than I expected. Very glad the purple backing matches all three.
Jul 18: Pre-washed all of the floral prints and enough purple to back 3 coverlets.​
Jul 16: Had to call Jonathan of Unlimited Heating & Air. Hard to beat next day service. Two of these coverlet quilts now have a home, one for his wife, Katie, and one for his secretary.
Jul 24: ​Ordered the Quilter's Dream Select batting - the lightest weight cotton on the market.
Jul 24, 2021: Started on 2 quilts, purple & orange. Greg is helping.
​Jul 25: Greg selected Butterflies for the quilting pattern. I like. Orange quilt quilted.
Jul 26: Purple quilt quilted.
Aug 13: Lost track but finished both quilts and delivered today.

​Sep 20: Back to brainstorming... I have moved our planning details to the infamous dot screen (the dot/period on the menu is not dust on your screen but a link to semi hidden playground for ideas. I is easier to use this mode than emailing.

Oct 24,26: Had to play to see what I'm in for (red blocks) - a whole lot of triangles inside triangles!.
Nov 03, 2020: Starting this project. Day 1. Laid out fabric combinations. Counting and recounting to be sure I have enough fat quarters (FQs).
Nov 04: Day 2. Pressing the FQs.
​Nov 05: Day 3. Wanted to do one FQ pair to be sure I was getting it right. Immediately realized I had to cut them in thirds (size of one paper template)
   Process --  not hard, just time intensive.

1. Pin a template on the pair, right sides together.
2. Sew on the dotted lines.
3. Cut on the solid lines to make 14 triangles & 4 squares.
4. Repeat 1-3 for other 2 matching thirds.
5. Press triangles open to make a half square triangles (HST).
6. Remove the paper.
7. Trim 2 dog ears on each HST.
8. Place the 42 triangles & 12 squares in a baggie.
9. The baggie will contains 54 pieces to make 6 identical blocks.

Went ahead and cut all the 20 FQ pairs into thirds making 60 sets.
Nov 06: Repeat Day 3 Process for 60 sets. Yields 20 baggies. Might take a few days. Day 4. Sewed 15 sets (5 FQ pairs). Still need to cut them apart.
Nov 09: Days 5-7. Finished first 5 FQs --cutting, pressing, removing paper, trimming. Taking a break on this one. Working on another--Munirah's Sonata.
Nov 18-21: Plugging along making triangle sets. Finished 9 of 21 sets.
Nov 27: Finished 13 of 21 sets. 8 more to go.
Nov 28: Hope to tackle the final 8 sets today but that's a lot.
Nov 29: Got the last 8 sets sewn. Still need to cut the triangles apart, press, clip corners & remove paper.
Dec 03: Got all the triangles cut.
Dec 04: Pressing triangles into squares, clipping corners & removing paper.
Dec 09: Finished with the sets. Taking a break to working on Munirah's Sonata before assembling the blocks.
Jan 26, 2021: Back to this quilt making blocks.
​Jan 31: Finished first 2 sets and then 1 more. Asked Lisa to take over this project.
​Feb 16: Lisa has not responded. After a 2 week break, I am very slowly making progress. 4th set of blocks done.
Mar 08: Heard from Lisa. She is thinking 5 years before she can do anything. Got all the rows done. Now on to the the blocks with nesting seams.

​Mar 22: First 4 rows are together.
Mar 24: Those 4 rows are now in one piece. Planning the layout for the second set and working on putting it together.

May 17: Loaded. Goofed the first start. Removed all the basting & first row of quilting.
​May 19: Quilting. Off to a good start this time. Facing 6.6 hours of machine quilting time. It is nearly impossible to see the quilting on the border & hard everywhere, thus the video. Give it lots of time to load. Turns out it is not my day.

May 08: Joe works at the neighborhood Dollar General. During this Covid-19 crisis, that often means double shifts and time only to sleep. This quilt is his thank you for a job well done. The retro backing is not available but hopefully will be come football season. Everything else is ordered.
May 19: After waiting 10 days, Fabric.com sent an email that the black flannel was not available. A first.
May 20: Ordered some Kaufman Yellow flannel hoping it might be a better match than the Citrus. Still looking for some retro fabric & notice there are shysters trying to sell small pieces for a huge price. Also ordered some black on Etsy.

Jul 28, 2019: Picked up the jelly rolls Saturday at Ye Olde Forest Quilt Shop. Googled for a 2-color strip quilt project and found Cozy Quilt "Glory." May 07, 2020: Eddie Gomez is here very much wanting a quilt. The one he seems most interested in is a RWB so I am doing a modification of Glory. I will know soon enough how tedious this really is. Lots of 9-patches & sashing with cornerstones shouldn't be too bad.

Jul 13, 2019: This disappearing pinwheel quilt is demonstrated online by MSQC. I found it months ago & did the EQ7 rendition then. Now it has the intended fabrics from the RWB fabrics for Joan's Vietnam Vets Project. This will be a J&L Quilt.

Jul 27: Swapping white for Wilmington Prints Cookies & Cream tonal 10" squares--1/2 light cream, 1/2 bright white.
Mar 02, 2020: Started piecing. Cut the blue and red blocks & paired them with the cream tonals.
Mar 03: Sewed the perimeter on the 20 paired 10" squares - 5 blue & white, 5 red & white. Cut the diagonals to make HST pinwheels & sew together. My pinwheel blocks are 12.75" square. Cut the pinwheel blocks in thirds (three 4.25" sections or cut 2 1/8" from center on all four sides.) horizontally and vertically, rearrange & sew back together into large pinwheel blocks. Completed a couple of blocks all the way to see what I have gotten myself into before doing all 20 blocks.
Mar 04-07: Working on the "sew back together" part as I get a chance.
Mar 20: After a long break, I finished the 18 pinwheel blocks. Yes, getting the centers just so was as tedious as I feared.
​Apr 10: Made some progress yesterday on the red blocks and along the way. Going is slow.

Jul 03: Just ordered a total of 3 tan & 3 black panels.
Jul 11: Played in EQ7 to get a basic rendition.
​Jul 27: Picked up some more fabrics at Ye Olde Forest Quilt Shop to blend the sets of blocks.
​Jul 30: Polished off 2 designs I think will work nicely but had to buy a full priced yard of the lettering to make it happen. Worth it. Having so much fun with this.

Jul 11, 2019: Greg has been working on my driveway lately. Today I met his granddaughter, Alana, who loves all things monkeys. When she saw the bananas fabric, she was hooked. I decided to go with a twister quilt using all the coordinating fabrics. Pre-ordered the layer cake expected in late September. Created the EQ7 Rendition. Ordered the fabric for the outer border & backing. Sure hope it coordinates nicely.

Jun 29: Again Warm company agreed to replace the faulty batting. I hope to receive the good batting tomorrow & return the faulty batting the next day. Meanwhile, quilting is on hold.

Sep 22, 2019: What a Day!!! For 2 months now, I've know that Evie loves purple and unicorns. I learned today that is not all. She also likes Narwhals (had to look that up) and dolphins. I showed her all the purples and pinks I had. One she definitely DID NOT like. One fabric, when she saw it, lit her up like a Christmas tree--the purple dogwood batik I bought for the coverlet quilts. Sumira will help her select exactly what she wants. She said, with no prompting at all ... put a unicorn in the middle with this around it (border). Doubt that will work but perhaps as the backing for when/if she outgrows unicorns. She also told me she wants all of her favorites in the quilt (panels in memory quilt type layout). Hmmm. WIll be fun to see what this narrows down to...what she chooses. I'll be making renditions of all of these to show her & see what shakes out.
Sep 25: Received her selection.
Sep 26: Ordered the kit. Backing is my selection.

Dec 03: I have decided to try to make this & Blakley's quilts by Christmas.
Dec 05: Pre-washed fabrics along with Blakley's.
Dec 15: Ready to start. Got familiar with the instructions & fabrics...what goes where. Separated the panels.
Dec 16: Decided to Best Press the panel fabrics before cutting (9.5"x11"). Helped a lot. 16 panels are ready to sew.
Dec 17: The backing is ready. I fused the Pellon SF101 100% cotton interfacing to the rayon. It did nicely. No longer too slinky to quilt.
Dec 18: Adding frames to panels.
​Dec 19: All panels are framed. Cut the rest of the fabric into squares, triangles & rectangles that will compose the sashing.
Dec 25: Still working with 68 sets of small triangles working them into squares.
​Dec 31: No more triangles. Now squares.
Jan 02-03: Piecing the rows.
Jan 04: Combined the rows & sashing. Center is done. Made the complex borders. Will attach tomorrow.

Sep 22, 2019: What a Day!!! I asked Blakley to think about something that made her feel peaceful, happy, safe...something along that line. She came back after thinking about and asked for beach fabrics because of the way the beach makes her feel. At once, I thought of the Sea Cottage fabrics I had left from Dad's Gift to Caroline. She loved them. I showed all sorts of ways we could use the fabric. After looking at all them, she had me go back to Easy Peasy Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt. I can do a rendition in no time when I get a moment after my deadlines this month.
Sep 24: I found some fabric and posted it on the dot screen.
​Sep 25: Blakley emailed me complete with pictures. "Hi, this is Blakley. I have picked out a couple quilt squares that I like on e-quilter. Can you incorporate these in to the quilt with the color square we talked about when you were here(the first picture in the email). Also can you make the backing the first the beach is my happy place for my backing (second picture in the email) please? Thank you so much! Blakley Mathieson  Yes, I can...almost. The peebles fabric is sold out. It didn't look so good anyway. I am showing several options here that I think look awesome.
Sep 26: Fabric is ordered. At Samira's insistence that it is what Blakley wants, the backing will be 6 panels. I ordered some of the seashore mix. The peebles sold out from under us. If Blakley really wants them, I can get a yard on eBay with an inflated shipping cost.
Oct 02: All the fabrics are here. Well, almost. The vendor sent me the wrong fabric--no footprints. I have re-ordered.
Oct 03: The panel came in. In fact 6 panels came in because Samira knew Blakley wanted only panels on the back. Turns out she did not want that at all. Panels, anyone? This quilt is going to be so gorgeous, so special, if I do say so myself. I love it. In fact, I have some fabric I am going to use to make the same Easy Peasy quilt.
Oct 12: Replacement Footprints in the Sand fabric finally got here.
Dec 03: I have decided to try to make this & Evie's quilt by Christmas.
Dec 05: Pre-washing new fabrics. Sea Cottage fabrics are already pre-washed.
Dec 06: Made the backing - a quilt in itself.
​Dec 08: Sea Cottage blocks are ready to sew. Planning the layout. Had to size down to 8" blocks from 9" blocks so more blocks needed.
Dec 09: Planning the layout.
Dec 10: Layout is planned. Made the 1st nine patch.
Dec 11: Will cut & resew 1st nine-patch before making other nine patches then proceed from there. Aligning seams for chain piecing.
Dec 12: Chain piecing remaining 9-patches.
Dec 13: Longarming another quilt. Intelliquilter longarm computer is down.
Dec 14: Drive wheels worn out beyond repair. Ordered & waiting for new ones. Rows are together. Just need to join them to each other to finish the quilt top.
Dec 15: Joining the rows. Quilt top is finished. Top & back are ready to longarm. Will do a few overlays of patterns. Turned out that the top is as soft & quiet as the back is bold & colorful. Really is 2 quilts with 2 different moods in one.
Apr 28: Prepped & loaded. Quilting.
May 10: Quilted.
May 19: Bound.

May 20, 2019: Been hoping to make this quilt for awhile. Made the mistake of stopping in at the local quilt shop just to say hello. Got me thinking deeper about fabrics. Contrast to make the flag (not the borders) "wave" is the key.
Jun 13: Settled on some fabrics. Wanted more contrast but this will work. Ordered Andover Stars Navy Fabric. I will piece or paper piece the stars if I can perfect it.
Jun 17: The navy fabric is here so I am all set to piece when I get/make the time. Working on my star. Found a paper pieced star pattern I like.
​Jul 19: Pre-washed all the fabrics except red charms (5" squares).
Jul 23: Asked Joan if she would be interested in doing the paper piecing. She just might. Turns out I pieced the stars
Aug 01: When I offered John a quilt, he chose 15 Stars over the others I am planning: Disappearing Pinwheel, & Glory.
Nov 11: Veterans Day. Been working on stars since Saturday trying to get the right dimensions. Ain't easy as the slightest change makes a huge difference. Looks like I may have enough fabric for a second quilt.
Nov 13: After 5 long days & many samples, I finally have a star that I think will work nicely. Now I understand why the author of this quilt design used wonky stars but I got stubborn and want something more like the real flag. Where is Betsy Ross when you need her? My star isn't perfect but it is visually close.
Nov 16: Have 16 stars cut ready to sew. Helping a friend a couple of days this week.
Nov 17: Sewing one set of 16 stars together.
Nov 21: Have one set of stars ready for the quilt.
Nov 27: Red charms (5" squares) are ready for the quilt. Just leaves HSTs (half square triangles) & borders...then can assemble.
​Nov 28: Working on HSTs. Process: 2 strips 4" wide. Sew together along long sides, both sides. Use HST strip ruler to cut 5" sq HSTs along the seams alternating sides. 10 squares per strip. 4 strips per quilt. 33 blocks - 15 A blocks & 18 B blocks. All blocks are ready now to assemble.
Nov 29: Working on A & B blocks.
Nov 30: A & B blocks are done ready to square & then assemble into the quilt. Whew.
Jan 19, 2020: Resuming work to join the blocks.
Jan 20: The blocks are joined into rows.
Jan 23: Joining rows into quilt center. Done. Only borders left to do.
Jan 28: Started adding inner white border.
Feb 03: White border is on. Cut the red & blue borders and blue backing. Need to pre-wash the blue fabric.
Feb 20: All the borders are on & the quilt top is finished.
Feb 21: Sampled the Modern Eccentric quilting design & love it! So does John.

Nov 06, 2018: Today, my friend & very special lady, Alicia, selected this for her quilt. We've been working up to this for several months now. Can't wait to get started.

Jul 04: Cutting background charms, i.e. 5" squares.
Jul 06: Arranged the blocks.

Jul 12: The blocks are done. Next cut, swap, sew back together into final blocks.
Jul 15: I intentionally cut the background square a tad too big so I trimmed the blocks. Cutting 1" from the center all the way around, swapping corners & turning the center square to get the final layout, then sewing the 9 pieces back together into the final block. MSQC video

​Sep 07: The center is done.
Sep 08: First border is on. Widening the outer border from 3" to 6".
Sep 10: Backing, outer border & binding are cut and ready to sew.

​Aug 02, 2019: The fabric for the Ivory Dogwood quilts is here. I will be making two, perhaps 3.
Aug 03: The print is so much larger than I expected that I am trying to get a feel for how the quilting might look. First task--pre-wash...tomorrow. May take several tomorrows ... lol
Aug 04: The lights are washed.& ready to cut.
Aug 05: The darks are washed, not dried or pressed.
Aug 06: Working on partly custom, mostly whole cloth layout for the 2nd quilt. It will be awhile before a final plan emerges. I've been having an unusual number of "unforeseen circumstances", all good, but hard to get anything I planned done. Good thing too. Just learned my quilt recipients are enduring "unforeseen circumstances" too. 
Aug 09: The last few days, I finished the washing, drying, pressing & folding all the fabrics--a good pause point. I have decided we all need to leave this alone for a while, me too. The parameters & options & decisions & life are conflicting--solve one question, three pop up in its place. There is no urgency here.
Aug 30: Pieced ready to quilt.
Aug 31: Backing is prepped ready to load.
​Sep 01: Loaded. Quilting.

Aug 28: Prepped & loaded.
Aug 29: Panel 1 of 3 done. Loading panel 2.
Aug 30: Quilted 2nd panel. Ran out of backing. Unloaded and loaded 3rd panel.
Aug 31: Quilted 3rd panel. Trimmed backing off 1st & 3rd panels, sewed them together and then sewed them on the 2nd panel. Reloaded and finished quilting.

Apr 13, 2017: Met with Crystal this morning to get an idea of what she might like. It will be fun to see where we end up. The WoW from  2011 wowed her instantly.  I pulled the greens and purples from my batiks collection & will plug them into the EQ7 rendition to see how it looks & what it might need. Also have other fabrics on hand that might do. Not getting anywhere...
Apr 18: Went to Greensboro. Picked up 7.5 yds of purple & green batiks with Joanne's help.
Apr 24: Met with Crystal & showed her several options for using the fabrics. She still wants Will O' Wisp & loves the brighter colors.
​Apr 05, 2018: After a year's delay, I am finally taking the time to work on this quilt. I prepped the fabrics for cutting and then spent time re-familiarizing myself with the details of how to layout the fabrics. Also made a cutting chart to help keep things straight. Ready to start cutting tomorrow.
Apr 06: The strips that make up the main part of the quilt are cut. 
​Apr 07: Chimneys (dark blue) are cut. Logs from 7 of the 8 fabrics are cut.
Apr 08: All pieces are cut ready to sew.
Apr 15: Made A blocks which comprise the center star.
​Apr 17: Working on B blocks. Everytime I start to sew for the last 2 days, I get interrupted.
Apr 18: Thought I finished B blocks only to discover I had pieced mirror images of what I intended. These just happen to be Br blocks. I need two more Br blocks. I can make the correct 6 B blocks from the Br logs. If one is going to make a major mistake on this quilt, this is the one to make. B & Br blocks are done.
May 26: Been working on the 22 D blocks as I have a few minutes. Done now.
Aug 13-15: Have a bit of time so working on C blocks.
Dec 16: Continuing the work on C Block.
​Dec 18: C Blocks are done. 6 wedges & 4 corner sections are done.
​Dec 27: The center is in one piece. Only border are left to do.
Dec 28: Borders are on & thus the quilt top is finished.

​Dec 29: Saw Crystal today. She selected Zephyr for her pattern. Posted overlay.
Jun 21, 2019: Prepping and loading. After 2 years, it's about time to finish this up.
Jun 22: Loaded. Got sick all of a sudden.
Jun 23: Quilting. Love the pattern Crystal picked on this quilt. Forgot to take picture on first row (Still feeling queasy.)
Jun 24: Quilted. Squared in preparation for the binding

Jul 21: Attached the binding and started the handwork. Got about 1/2 way.
Jul 29: Finished the binding & thus the quilt.
Jul 30: Pressed & packaged the quilt. Figured I'd better call before heading out to deliver this. Darn, she's not working today. Tomorrow I'll enjoy breakfast when I deliver this.
Jul 31: Hand delivered. I rarely go for breakfast but it was excellent.

Feb 09, 2018: The only thing I have to go on is "yellow". Stopped by the quilt shop on the way home from talking to Mish at Geeks at Work & reserved these fabrics.Over the weekend, I posted lots of renditions.
Feb 12: Since no requested feedback, I made an executive decision to make this quilt. I like that there are two contrasting Quatrefoil designs--the blue & the yellow. Bought the fabric.
Feb 14: Busy working on another project that is on hold until Friday so I am cutting strips. All cut except the yellow.
Feb 15: Everything except backing is cut & ready to sew.
Feb 16: Sewed the strip sets & cut into pieces for making the 4-patches.
​Feb 17: Started on the 4-patches.
Feb 18: Finished the 4-patches. Started on the blue leaves of the quatrefoil attaching the yellow squares to the corners on one side.
Feb 19: Finished making the quatrefoil leaves. Just a matter joining the top 3, middle 3 & bottom 3 blocks into the larger 12" quatrefoil blocks. The middle ones with the large colorful squares are done.
​Feb 20: Working on the blocks.
Feb 21: Top & bottom rows are done. Connecting top & middle rows.
​Feb 22: The blocks are done. Next connecting them into rows.
Feb 27: Been working but slowly. Finished putting the rows together. Whew!
Feb 28: The quilt center is done. Pressing and borders tomorrow.
​Mar 01: Working on borders. Finished 2 of 3.
Mar 04: Third border is on which will mean this baby is pieced.
May 03: Somewhere along the line I made the binding. Piecing the backing.
Aug 30: Took my quilt to Sew Original to show Patti who helped me select the fabrics way back when. I had purple fabric intended for this quilt but it never quite felt right. I decided to replace it with Grunge Sky Blue, a perfect match to the blue used throughout the top. And it will show the quilting. Since Mish is into robotics, I choose Steam Punk Gears for his panto and will quilt it as loose as I can. Thinking Light Yellow thread. May try for blue in the bobbins.
Sep 13: Mish likes the gears (over the Spokes I also have).
May 28, 2019: Prepped. Loaded ready to quilt.
May 29: Quilting. Quilted.
​May 30: Squared the quilt. Attached the binding.
Jun 11: Binding is finished.
Jun 12: Delivered in person. What a smile, Mish.

May 05, 2019: A special couple has just commissioned this fun little quilt. This is an enlarged version of the original made in 2015. Someone is living right because to be able to find the same fabrics 4 years later is rare ... and I know who they are! (When I first learned they were in the market for a quilt, I sold them on Joan's beautiful Gold Quilt, my heart throb since I did the binding on it back 2016. They still wanted one made by me so this will be it.
​May 06: Ordered fabric from Nuts and Bolts Fabric & AceHardwareMerc. I must say the ladies behind these shops have the best customer service I have experienced. Thank you Earleen & Jenn.
​May 09: Fabrics are here. At the end of an aggravating day of longarming, I decided to go ahead and cut the charm pack in pieces for making the braids.
​May 11: Planning the braids.
​May 12: Sewing the braids. This is so much fun & fast. No fussy points yet looks tedious. Didn't start sewing until after 8 PM and got halfway in an hour.
​May 15: Finished the braids. Cut the sashing and borders.
May 27: Trimmed the braids. Added the sashing.
May 28: Added borders. Quilt top is pieced. Backing is ready.
May 30: Programmed. Loaded. Quilted.
​May 31: Made the binding.
Jun 01: Binding is attached. Ready for hand work.
​Jun 04: Started hand work.
​Jun 07: Binding is finished & thus the quilt is finished.
Jun 10: Delivered in person.

Dec 24, 2018: Around noon, I got an email from Craig Evans about my UNC Tarheels Quilt. This is a slightly modified version enlarged to king size.
​Dec 26: Plan is finalized, fabric is ordered.
Dec 29: The flannel backing is here & it is awesome.
Jan 02, 2019: All the rest of the fabrics are here.
​Jan 03: Pre-washed the white fabric.
​Jan  07: Proposed lettering quilting patterns.
Jan 17: Returning Blueberry fabric that worked on previous quilt because the feature fabric had some light blue but not so good for this one. Using me new Kona color card, I ordered Prairie Sky in its place.
Feb 01: Now know exactly how much background fabric I need before pre-washing.
Feb 02: Fabrics are washed ready to cut.
​Feb 04: Working on the background blocks.
Feb 16: Background squares are trimmed.
​Feb 17: Strips cut for windows & borders. Starting on window blocks.
Feb 18: Making progress on the window blocks. Short a strip of Prairie Sky fabric because there were flaws in what I received. MSQC is sending enough replacement fabric for me to finish.
Feb 19: Finished the blocks.
Feb 23: Carolina flannel backing & navy borders & sashing are pre-washed.
​Feb 24: Started on the sashing. Made the binding.
Feb 25: Rows are mostly done.
Feb 27: Half of the quilt center is in one piece. Still waiting for 3.5" of light blue fabric.
Mar 01: The last bit of fabric is here now.
Mar 08: The last 3 blocks are ready to insert into the quilt top.
Mar 11: Organized sashing & border strips.
Mar 13: Sashing & borders.
Mar 17: The quilt top is in one piece. Only borders left.
Mar 20: Sashing is finished. Working on white border.
Mar 23: White border done.
Apr 04: Change of plans. Going to do custom stitch in the ditch quilting of this one.
Apr 10: Quilt top is finished.
Apr 30: Got the main backing done.
May 01: Leaders added to make the backing large enough to load.
May 02: Loading.

May 09: After quilting many rows without a hitch, I suddenly had a thread/tension problem yesterday. Resolved it this morning. Should finish quilting today. NOPE. It is one of those nightmare after nightmare days.
May 10: Quilted. All is well that ends well.
May 15: Squared the quilt in preparation for binding.
​May 21: Binding is attached.
May 22: Clipped the binding and started the hand work.
May 24: Binding is done thus the quilt is done.
Jun 10: Shipped. Craig has been out of town.
