Got an email tonight: "I have finally finished a quilt top that I started 14 yrs ago for my youngest son, on dialysis - he's still on dialysis and I would love to give it to him for Christmas."
Hmmm. A phone number and a request for a call was included. I dialed & am so glad I did. A fellow North Carolinian had lost track of time--"Why are they decorating for Christmas?" DUH. Me being me, I extended the invitation I have so often to other NCers to come on up & we'll do it together and you can take it home with you. It is not a big quilt, just nice in fact.
Stay tuned on Monday when we will all meet Gail Burton.
A quilt for Scotty.
Gail & I worked hard and got this beauty done in a day.
Nov 18: Received the above picture from Gail. We're thinking about using King Tut #10003 Glowing Embers variegated red and black.
Nov 19: Gail is here. We have prepared and loaded the quilt, changed the thread, programmed IQ, basted and started quilting. We are quilting rather densely and are able to do two rows before rolling the quilt. And finished!! Great day, Gail!!
