Aug 25: This is Caci's 2nd quilt to come here. Remember the Harry Potter Bookcase quilt? Caci named this quilt at my request. I keep thinking real spiders are on the quilt. This very large quilt is comprised of 4 large blocks shown below & some sashing.
Aug 28: Finally took some pictures such as they are. Small cabin...large quilt.
Aug 30: Went looking for bat & spider web patterns. Caci likes Gotham with Dark Grey thread.
Sep 09: Prepping the backing. Needs some work.
Sep 10: Got the backing pieced & ready to load.
Sep 11: Loading the back. Prepping the top.
Sep 12: Loaded ready to quilt. Quilting. The quilt is very flat & a joy to longarm.
Sep 13: Quilted.
Aug 10: I fell in love with this Row By Row by my friend, Pattie, designed for Sew Original Quilt Shop this year. The kits were made by daughter, Joanne Jones, dba Appliqué USA. I asked Patti to do the appliqué & she agreed to make it as a sample while she taught the course. Went to pick it up today & to show off my Peaks quilt before it leaves here tomorrow. Pattie loves to show me her latest projects when I stop by. So much non-stop creativity in one great gal.
Aug 14: Started playing with borders & considering how to quilt this. I wasn't going to but it really needs something to hold everything together. Green seems to be the accent needed so I went looking. Peggy, another shop favorite, helped me look. Couldn't believe we found a batik with ALL the shades in the panel. I will only use 1/4" strips as an accent to pop against the Onyx Grunge. We shall see. Realize I have very limited wall space. Having played with many combinations of borders, I have settled on the one here.
Aug 15: Need a play morning. Got 1/4" inner borders on. Thinking I will quilt with a small stipple. Open to ideas. Well, the morning went well but this afternoon I kept getting tripped on one silly thing after another. Finally after 6 pm, this is ready to quilt. Even though it has taken far too long, today has been a nice break from longarming.
Aug 16: Played with several pantos I could as stippling. Decided on His Reflection quilted at 1.7" rows.
Aug 18: Quilted.
Sep 30: Bound.
Dec 2018: Having enjoyed this on my wall for over a year, I decided to give this to a special lady in the business of helping lots of mountain folk with physical issues.
