Making several sets of Christmas placemats, solid red on the front, red tartan on the back. Using variegate Holly & Ivy King Tut thread. Got off to a bad start when a thread jammed my bobbin assembly when I turned my machine on. What took two months last summer to learn, I executed in about an hour. I am up and running beautifully. Nov 26: Quilted two sets Nov 27: Quilted third set. Squared the mats. Nov 28: Binding. One set done, 2nd set well underway. Nov 29: Putting 1st set in the booth for sale. Attached green binding to all 4, pin basted 3 and completed 1 of the 2nd set. Nov 30: Finished 2nd set. Started on the 3rd set. Dec 01: Finished 3rd set. Christmas Bells Reindeer & Stars Season's Greetings

Nov 14: Quilted! The final pictures are always a bit rough from the quilt having been rolled up tightly. That will relax very quickly!! The quilt back is absolutely stunning! Just got in a wonderful flannel quilt so bright and happy with little toy trains all over! Precious & very nicely pieced!!! Maria Williams pieced this for her son (not grandson). She sent us his picture as the recipient. She will have to share her story with us. I must admit I love flannel so I will enjoy quilting this very much. Maria says: You asked for the story of Daniel, so here it is. He could easily be my grandson, but he is actually my own baby. I had him when I was 45! I have a 17-year old beautiful daughter, and a 10-year old wonderful son. My husband and I were done having babies, we had given away all of our baby stuff, and were getting to the point of buying new furniture and nice things, since the kids were grown. Well, I went to the doctor because I wasn't feeling well, and it turns out that I was pregnant! We could not believe it, it was the most unexpected thing. He is the sweetest thing that we didn't know we wanted. Now our family is more than complete, and we get to relive all the baby years one last time. It has been really very special. Everybody adores Daniel, and he brightens our days, and most of our nights, because he doesn't like to go to sleep :) Maria is a great sport as you can tell!! I was getting concerned but then found her email stuck in my spam blocker! Oh no! Nice to know she is okay though. LOL Nov 10: Selected the IQ pattern & layout Nov 12: Loaded. I am posting extra pictures & some videos just for Daniel who is tracking me closely! LOL We even spoke on the phone last night! What a delightful child. Nov 13: Quilted This is DANIEL!! _ Nov 16: I would say Daniel definitely made an impact!! I don’t know what the numbers mean but clearly SOMETHING happened on the 12th&13th. LOL
Maria: That is so cool! The boy is a quilter's magnet! :) We got the quilt today. It is so beautiful! Now I just have to bind it! Alas! The binding must indeed be endured. |
