Oct 22: The quilt is here. Donna has used the classic Ashley's Journey brickyard pattern.
Nov 02: Prepping & programming. Did a panto layout & a custom layout.
Nov 03: Donna chose the custom layout. Prepped & loaded the backing. Cut the Warm & Plush batting.
Nov 06: Sick since the 31st, I only managed to re-seam 3 of 4 too wavy borders, removing about 1.5" of fabric from each. Since I have agreed to custom quilt this, flat borders are even more important than usual. I didn't realize they were friendly when I made the offer.
Nov 07: Quilting.
Nov 08: Quilted.
Nov 10: Shipped.
Oct 04: First Contact. Immediately selected Rabbit Rampage panto & white thread to match. Tara had enough fabric to make a second slight smaller quilt. I suggested she sew the backs together & I would quilt both as one.
Oct 13: Quilts arrived.
Oct 28: Prepping.
Oct 29: Loaded. Quilting.

Oct 12: Got a call & then a visit from Ada Blackwell here in NC. A woman who knows her mind, she went home to finish what we started...picking a pattern for each of her 72 blocks. Each block is 4 nested squares, beautifully pieced & coordinated. Truly a work of art. Our creation won't show up so much on the front but the off-white muslin backing is the incentive to create a whole cloth effect that will be stunning. We will use a variegated So Fine# 40 thread with two neutral shades.
Oct 20: Complete change of plans to a pantograph, Four Leaf Clover Swirls, and Small Border 10, both by Vicki Maleski. Ordered.
Oct 21: Prepped & loaded. IQ is programmed.
Oct 22: Quilting.
Oct 23: Quilted. When Ada & daughter, Audrey, picked up the quilt, they insisted on taking me to lunch. And Ada bought me a little gift. Now that is gratuity & and very much appreciated.

Oct 12: Started prepping including squaring the backing, trimming threads & pressing.
Oct 13: Loaded & about to start quilting. Quilting was much too loose. Took it out.
Oct 14: Starting over quilting slightly tighter today. Notice how the rows go uphill to the right.
Oct 15: Quilted.
Oct 02: Decided to use the Sherwood Scenic fabric as a feature fabric in a simple quilt with just three fabrics plus a backing, yet not boring. Ordered the fabrics & can only hope they will really match. If they don't, I'll use them &/or others in a different way.
Oct 07: Fabric shipped.
Oct 09: Fabric is here & everything matches.
