Nov 18: First contact about this quilt.
Dec 12: Grace decided to take advantage of "virtual shipping" this holiday season. The 12th is the day she was ready to ship. Dec 28: I got several panto choices for each of Grace's quilts. We are sorting through them. Dec 29: One of two quilt tops I received from Grace today. Jan 06: Grace & I have been toying with a number of patterns and narrowed it down today to Cloudy Day by Willow Leaf Studios. Still need to nail down thread & density. Jan 09: Loaded ready to quilt. Jan 10: Quilted. Jan 11: Final pictures.

Jan 06: Grace & I have been toying with a number of patterns and narrowed it down today to Romanesque by Willow Leaf Studios. You just never know what might be going on behind the scenes around here, right Grace? You don't have to answer that. Jan 12: No ... wait. Grace is working on a custom design now. Jan 19: She has submitted a plan that includes 2 pantographs & 2 block designs in various combinations. I will be reproducing it in IQ to see how it will really work. Jan 24: Programmed Grace's design with a few tweaks of my own. Jan 27: We have settled on a plan that features a panto background which mirrors itself along the center horizontal. GRACE help me as I try to longarm this. (I tried to talk Grace into coming down & helping.) Oh well. Feb 08: Loading. Changed from Warm & Plush to Warm & White since the plush is natural, not white. Feb 09: Quilting. Feb 10: Quilted. Too tired to deal with pictures & shipping just now. Plan to ship tomorrow. Okay...1 picture. Mar 02: First contact.
Mar 26: Quilt arrived along with 4 panto ideas. Been playing with & responding to those ideas. Mar 27: Settled on Soap Flakes. Apr 19: Did an EQ7 quilt rendition & overlay. Silver thread & Density 1.25. Apr 20: Quilting. Apr 21: Quilted. Oct 20: The quilt was left in the mailbox.
Oct 22: Several of us had a bit of a scare when the quilt tracked to me but I hadn't received. Turns out the box was just barely able to slip into the mailbox. Since it was cube shaped only slightly larger than others I have received lately, it wasn't particularly memorable to any of the postal workers. Alas all is well. Maybe I should have opened the box before saying it was here--it might never have turned up! That is my way of saying it is adorable no matter what shade it photographs. And some of that fabric on the backing is very familiar. Oct 26: For several days, Grace has been exploring pattern options. I haven't been helping any because every time I get an idea of what she likes I show her similar options. I think she has settled on Spiral Braid & now has to figure out what density she wants. Of course I have now done an EQ7 rendition and multiple overlays. Oct 27: It is settled--12 rows with each one 4.2". Oct 30: Decided to get up early rather than work late last night. Prepped, loaded, quilted. Will try for better backing photo tomorrow. Oct 31: Final pics. Shipped. I had a hunch & sure enough Grace is a blogger. Takes one to know one, right? Having seen her blog, this beautiful creation does not surprise me in the least. Simply (not at all) beautiful. Apr 09: First contact.
Apr 10: Grace selected to Feather Breeze by Willow Lake Studios for her pattern. Thinking silver thread. Apr 16: Quilt arrived. Apr 21: Prepping. I have posted density details for two sizes--11" & 15". Can't go larger than 15". Can go anywhere in between or smaller/denser. Note that the pattern and thread will not show up well on the busy top but will show up nicely on the back. Grace has chosen 15". BTW: Beautiful piecing, Grace. Loading. Quilting. Quilted. Pics after dinner...but don't like them. Sure did try though. Will try again in the morning. Apr 22: Final pictures. |
