Jan 20: Quilt top here.
Jan 21: Brainstorming quilting ideas. Jan 22: Matching thread & more ideas. Can quilt two rows at a time & can load the quilt sideways to reduce the number of rolls of the quilt. Jan 26: We have a plan. Will use light turquoise on the blue, green & dark blue border. Will use dark pink on the pink & purple corners in the heart blocks. Will use white on the white border. Jan 27: Worked through this all night, you know, in my sleep. Will implement my ideas this morning to see if they work. Yep. Jan 29: Prepped ready to load. Jan 31: Loaded. Tweaking the pattern ... Feb 03: Quilting. Feb 04: Don't like the pink on purple corners. Switching to a simple line pattern the inside pink-purple seams in the heart block corners. Feb 05: Quilting. Halfway. Feb 06: Working on 2nd half. Only borders left. Feb 07: Quilted. Jan 03: First contact on this quilt.
Jan 11: Quilt is here. Quilting Leafy Swirls medium dense using Magnifico #2003 Snowflake (off-white) & Warm & Plush batting. Jan 13: Prepped ready to load. Jan 16: First task today--wind 10-12 bobbins. Loaded ready to quilt. Jan 17: Quilting. Couldn't quite finish. Since I'm snowed in, I can't ship tomorrow anyway. Jan 18: Quilted. A fun quilt to photograph ... can you tell? Posted in the Gallery. Will ship when I can get out of here &/or the carrier can get up here, if not Saturday then Monday. Sorry Karen. Jan 02, 2018: Jon picked this as his quilt today. (Made this quilt for Ann in 2017 using Onyx Grunge.)
Jan 03: Using a dark batik on the outer border, back & binding. Should show the quilting nicely on the back. Jan 06: Fabric is here. Has a bluish tint that just happens to match the large symbol in the fabric. Can always use grunge for a blacker look but the batik is growing on me. Jan 08: Jon likes the blue. Jan 13: Prewashing the batik. Went ahead & pieced the backing so it is ready to load. Jan 15: Borders & binding are cut ready to sew. Jan 16: Borders & binding are pieced ... Jan 17: ... & pressed. Binding is ready. Started on borders but didn't get very far. Jan 18: All 3 borders are on & thus the quilt top is finished. Can load for longarming tomorrow. Jan 19: Going through the longarm setup process. Need to fine tune my programming to match the real quilt size. We are doing an intentional placement of the panto so the borders will show off the pattern nicely. Jan 20: Quilting. Jan 21: Still quilting. Jan 22: Quilted. Squared ready to attach binding. Jan 23: The binding is attached and clipped ready for hand work. Feb 02: Half way done. Feb 08: Bound & thus the quilt is finished. Feb 09: Hand delivered. |
