Aug 25: This is Caci's 2nd quilt to come here. Remember the Harry Potter Bookcase quilt? Caci named this quilt at my request. I keep thinking real spiders are on the quilt. This very large quilt is comprised of 4 large blocks shown below & some sashing.
Aug 28: Finally took some pictures such as they are. Small cabin...large quilt.
Aug 30: Went looking for bat & spider web patterns. Caci likes Gotham with Dark Grey thread.
Sep 09: Prepping the backing. Needs some work.
Sep 10: Got the backing pieced & ready to load.
Sep 11: Loading the back. Prepping the top.
Sep 12: Loaded ready to quilt. Quilting. The quilt is very flat & a joy to longarm.
Sep 13: Quilted.
Jul 17: First contact. Asking for a spider web panto.
Jul 18: Phone conversation. Caci will come up from SC to help with her quilt. Changed to WV Logo panto.
Jul 26: Caci can't stay and help but she is bringing her quilt on Monday, August 1. The plan is to do the prep & setup & hopefully start on the quilting. I also want to show her how to do binding.
Aug 01: Caci was here today. We made it all the way through programming, thread (Bottom Line Tan) & batting (Warm & Plush) selection, cutting the batting, pressing, fixing a minor wavy border & an open seam, loading, & basting. Quilted 2 rows, rolled the quilt & realigned for the next row. Granted it took us 7.5 hours but that included the break for pizza & conversation. Most important it was congenial & fun. Now about the quilt. Incredible fabric art. Posting details. Caci's use of fabric to paper piece this most interesting bookcase with so much more than just a Harry Potter theme is brilliant, in my humble opinion. Wow! I am half way with the longarming. Will finish tomorrow.
Aug 02: Quilted. Next will square and attach binding. Shipping tomorrow.
