Oct 14: Quilt is here. Cindy's sister asked her to make this quilt & chose the fabrics.
Nov 15: I am making thread & pattern decisions this one time per Cindy's request.
Nov 16: Prepped.
Nov 17: Quilted.
Oct 14: Quilt arrived. Will use Dream Orient batting. Received a 2nd quilt featuring strawberries designed by Cindy's Mom.
Nov 13: Cindy has been kind enough to say there was no hurry doing her quilts. Cut the Dream Orient batting for both. This one is now prepped. Loading.
Nov 14: Loaded ready to quilt.
Nov 15: Quilted.
Aug 30: First contact by email. Sent magazine picture of Fons & Porter's Focus On Fun quilt. Selected Bam Meander with white thread to match background.
Sep 25: I followed up with Cindy. Family death, etc.
Nov 05: Received the quilt. If I am not mistaken, all the colored fabrics including the backing are grunges.
Nov 20: Cut the Dream Orient batting. Using white thread.
Nov 22: I planned to do this quilt today but stopped to post some overlays on the PLAYGROUND. Cindy got in touch but I need to be sure just how loosely she wants this quilted when we get a chance to talk.
Nov 23: We have a plan.
Nov 24: Quilted.
This stained glass quilt is called Harvest Moon. I have it upside down.
Piecing doesn't get better than this. Awesome job, Cindy.
Now if I can figure out how to longarm it in a way that does it justice. This photo certainly does not.
May 02: Quilt top is here.
May 05: Drew the blocks in IQ so I can sample patterns.
May 23: "I have decided to donate the quilt top to my friend's church group. They already raffled off the same quilt and made quite a large amount of money." I will say that Cindy was most generous in compensating me for planning and design work for which I never charge. Thank you, Cindy.
Take a duvet cover, separate the top & back, send it to me, add batting ... voila! Duvet turned Quilt.
Apr 30: First contact.
May 04: Quilt arrived
Jun 08: Prepped & loaded ready to quilt. Still need to program IQ. IQ is ready.
Jun 09: Since I am quilting this loose to allow the wool batting to hold as much air as possible, it will go quickly. Here goes with the basting. Quilting. And finished. Will ship tomorrow. The dreary weather is not cooperating with my camera. At least you can see a star or two above.
