Jun 17: First contact. I am just going to outline the tree trucks, vines and birds. Will also square and attach binding after quilting.
Jun 23: Package arrived with additional place mats (2) also. Opps! No backing. By email, I have suggested dark brown for the branches and dark grey for the trucks and birds. Either Magnifico or Bottom Line will do.
Jun 25: Using the green for backing. Using some black I have on hand for binding. Using Magnifico thread. Had to border the backing for loading purposes since I barely had enough of the green. Good news for me is that all the work will be done on one row. Binding is made & ready.
Jun 26: Quilting. Of all the quilting that doesn't show well, this one shows the least.
Jun 27: Quilted. Stitching doesn't show which is probably a good thing. And binding is attached for Susie to finish.
Jun 18: First contact. Cindy enjoys nearby Beech Mountain this time of year so I invited her bring her quilt & let's do it together...tomorrow. Turns out Cindy is very interested in longarming herself, has a quilting machine & is going through the learning curve of setting the tension, etc. Been there, done that, hope I can help.
Jun 19: Oops! Our road is closed for repairs. Cindy and hubby are on route to the around your elbow back way in. Turns out Cindy could only stay until we got started on the longarming.
Got 2 rows stitched before rolling the quilt. Checking the back, I found good tension in places and totally unacceptable tension in others. Both Cindy & I checked the tension & it looked good. I should have checked more carefully all along the first row but didn't. It will take hours to remove all the stitching & start over. And so it goes..How long will it take? Only as long as it takes.
Only 7 hours to remove the stitches and set and test the proper tension. Tomorrow, will try again.
Jun 20: Quilted.
Jun 21: Emailed for a shipping address yesterday. No response yet.
Jun 18: "X" Marks the Spot" is a Take 5 pattern by Teacher's Pet. This quilt is one I have already enjoyed often as it has served as a Ye Olde Forest shop sample for sometime. It is a privilege to get to longarm it for Paula. Very interesting take on an Irish Chain design.
Jun 19: Will be using Wrought Iron pattern with no overlapping rows with neutral thread in the tan/taupe spectrum.
Jun 20: A playground day.
Jun 23: Density decided: 5" rows with 0.25" gap.
Jun 24: Prepped. Loading. Thread is Bottom Line Med Brown.
Jun 25: Quilting. Quilted.
Jun 03: For Paula's 5 yr old granddaughter. Loaded.
Jun 04: Paula says this was easy for her to piece. Sure doesn't look so easy nor so quick to do.
Jun 05: Quilting.
Jun 06: Quilted.
