Hmm. The fabric colors is not what I expected. May have to rethink this.

Sep 22, 2019: What a Day!!! Emad is Samira's son. Samira is Munirah's sister. The sisters live together. In all of the quilt discussion going on, Emad saw the Mosaic Red/Orange fabric on the dot screen. Without further ado, he said "I want that in a (no-piece) a simple quilt with just one border 60 x 80--just big enough to share with someone on the sofa. Just like that. I found these fabrics so far. Waiting for his feedback.
Sep 26: Final selections made. Fabric is ordered.
Oct 02: This quilt just got canceled. Any one interested before I try to see if I can return the fabric? If not, I'll shorten it to a throw, add a gold inner border & enjoy. And of course use wool batting. It will be a twin to my beloved Haberdashery.
Oct 03: An order for $107.92 came in today of which I only need one $5.50 panel for Blakley's quilt. Ouch. The fabric is gorgeous. My picture does not do it justice.

Window Shades

I have long admired the beautiful Hoffman Spectrum Prints and have wondered how I could use them. I have very little wall space & more quilts planned than I will ever make. This week I had an idea & I am going to give it a try. Since I had to buy more batting, that took me to the Warm Company website. Ah yes! I had forgotten about the Warm Window. After such a terribly cold winter & knowing I can't afford storm windows & hating plastic, I thought why not removable shades? Instead of just any old fabric, why not some of these beautiful panels? My wooden blinds are good insulation but with the added shades, I get excellent insulation & get to add some color without using valuable wall space. I ordered enough panels from Ye Olde Forest & asked Joanne to select coordinating fabric for borders. Just got everything in the mail. Still need to purchase the velcro (have my vendor selected) & need to order the Warm Window. I want to wait until I get their sample of the Warm 100 to see if I want to order that too. And I am excited. Just want to get ready for next winter so I have time that I know will fly by.

Ye Olde Forest Quilters Moving Sale

Ye Olde Forest Quilt shop has moved across the street more or less. Solicited to help, we had fun nonetheless while tolerating the heat, the work, the chaos, the meal breaks, did I mention the heat?, the concrete floors, the water--lots and lots of cold water. :Slowly things came together for the most incredible sale one could imagine. Batiks, grunges & other Moda bolts all on sale for ridiculously low prices plus an extra % off for end of the bolt. Patterns, Anita Goodesign CDs, needles, books, thread, so much more I can't begin to cover it all.
Fabric I picked up includes

3 Grunges--green, purple & red (RWB-Joan) (11 yds)
Dark navy texture left from the Hearty Good WIshes fabrics (RWB-Joan) (4 yd 20")
Black metallic for a backing (5 yd)
4 ginghams from the Brighten Up fabric line for a child or kids quilt (9 yd 21")
Beautiful dark grey and black Muslin Mates large floral w/birds print (7' 23")
Rustica Bali Pops I've had my eye on for a long time
Red batik with blue & navy dots (for my Flair Bali Pops & RWB-Joan) (3 yd + 2.8 yd)
Green & pinkish purple paisley batik for backing or whatever (10 yd)
Brown batik featuring owls (8 yd)

If you can use some of these, ask me. I only specific plans for a few of them.
AH! The sale has been extended all week

for the Joan Taylor RWB project. Shipped them
to her today.

Occasionally I buy fabric if the price is super right like $5 yard & gorgeous. Here is my limited stash. If you can use any of these, let me know. The same is true of other Planned Projects. Eventually I hope to get around to them but if you see something you like, let me know.

Feb 15, 2013: Purchased fabrics. Love them. Popped them into EQ7 to see how they look together. I reversed the glaze fabric putting the yellow edges together to get the effect shown here.
