I drove to Greensboro to see a dear friend, Munirah, to work with her granddaughters planning quilts they would like. And to get one of her awesome haircuts. NO ONE else has cut my hair the way I like it, the way I feel like me, for nearly 20 years.
The moment I entered her home at 2 PM, I was greeted by, not just by Munirah, but by her sister, Samira, too. It was as if I had entered a whole new world. Awesome home. Aura of peace. Compatible sisters sharing a home. Before the girls arrived, Munirah brought out her 2013 Red & White Twister Quilt. Next thing I knew Samira was brainstorming for a quilt for her bed.
We planned quilts in that whirlwind of activity & excitement from 2-6 PM. Samira ordered pizzas. We concluded our day in fellowship around the table. I had a quiet 2 hour drive home then sat down to capture the details in writing. Five hours later, I could rest.
