I rarely do custom but this one just called out for it.
Custom is much more manageable on a smaller quilt like this one.
Feb 26: Quilt arrived.
Feb 27: First photos. Started working on ideas for custom quilting this one.
Mar 04-05: Continued with more ideas using several of Donna Kleinke's patterns to create a scalloped edge.
Mar 11: Back with more ideas.
Mar 12: Bought the Garden Bunnies Set. Still fine tuning the corners.
Mar 15: Offered several layouts.
Mar 16: Joan made her choice.
Mar 25: Rails cleaned, bobbins wound, thread changed, pressed, loaded, basted, quilting. The top borders are done. Try though I may, I can only show you the sashing ... until I show you the back.
Tomorrow I will continue with the center panto and then the lower borders. I will remove the quilt, turn it 90 degrees and then reload it to do the side borders.
Mar 26: Quilted.

The back will be a whole cloth type effect.

Beautiful Job! I love it.

You didn't wait for me to finish.

Yes, but... it was beautiful and NOW that it is finished -- truly special --- I can't wait to see it in person! I'm taking a paperpiecing class for double wedding ring pattern starting April 22. The class includes binding scallops -- that will help when I "attempt" to bind this beauty!

You are most welcome, dear Joan. I am still enjoying it as I (am trying to) take final photos.
