This applique quilt with custom quilting is so beautiful. I will be adding the binding for Joan. So far my hands allow me to do this while her's do not.
Jan 14: Prepared and attached binding. Hand stitched one side. 1/4 done.
Jan 15: Continuing with the hand binding. 1/2 done.
Jan 16: Finished the binding.
_ "Purple tulip quilt blocks were applique blocks started (and nearly completed) by my Aunt, Aletha Herzog Mays -- the oldest of my mother's sisters. A couple of years ago when my aunt was being moved into a nursing home, I was the lucky recipient of what she had started. I finished what little applique was not complete. Purples happen to be both my Aunt's and my favorite so I had the purple paisley fabric that worked perfectly for assembling the quilt top. Bettie Pharr, an excellent quilter and multitalented friend of mine in West Virginia beautifully custom quilted this for me. Linda Lovett very generously has put the hand turned binding on for me. So many hands have brought this all together and oh so beautifully. It will have a permanent home on the brass bed in my guest room." Joan Taylor

Wow aren't you ambitious. I really love this quilt and am so excited that you will bind it for me. Can't thank you enough. Now I need to get caught up so I can finish the curtains and other accessories so that when I get the quilt back I will be able to put it in the guest room on the brass bed! Don't do very many things that are for me so I am VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS.
