Nov 17: First contact by online form
Nov 19: Pattern selected Nov 21: Quilt shipped Nov 23: The quilt is here. Nov 24: Thread & density are settled. Planning is complete. Dec 04: Loaded & ready to baste. Dec 05: Basting & testing thread tension. I knew the combination of batiks on top, batiks on back & 40 wt. (thick).King Tut cotton thread would be a challenge. Only took 2 hours just to get the tension right. Finally quilting but not totally happy with the back. Spent another hour on it so know that it is absolutely the best I can do. I sure do appreciate Heidi's graciousness & understanding with the challenges of longarming this quilt. Called Superior Threads and took their advice. A bit better. Proceeding. The thread hung in the bobbin on that final pair of rows. Didn't notice the problem (way too loose on top) until well into the row. Had to take it all our but the thread was so loose that went fairly quickly. Stitched the final pair of rows finishing at 2:30 AM. So QUILTED. Whew! More photos tomorrow. Will ship Saturday since too late to schedule a pick-up now. Now it is 3:45 AM after answering emails and catching up here. What a day but all is well that ends well. Dec 06: Final pictures.

Thanks for posting the picture with the threads! It really helps to see them on the quilt top. I will confer with Kristine and get back to you.

Hello...Mom has made this for our family in honor of a recent milestone wedding anniversary. We're excited to see it develop, and appreciate your great enthusiasm! I like the King Tut 920 thread, and think the stars and loops done at a small size would look great. Thanks! :)

LOL. Decided to deliver Janet's quilt to her. NOW I can start that pressing. Well, it is the next thing I will do when I do something. Trying to pace myself a bit so I can really enjoy these quilts and this season. Hey, at least I got the banner done!
